To market and enroll people for Medicare insurance recertification is mandatory, particularly for products with effective date of 2013. Recertification is also compulsory to continue receiving commission for fresh enrollments or for the ones that are previously done. Agents who are already certified to sell Humana products are required to go for recertification. For those who are looking to get certified are required to attend classroom sessions on Medicare advantage.

Agents can be PDP certified without having to attend the online classroom training. Online course just for PDP will be available in weeks to come. As per Federal law a person is required to be certified in order to market Medicare plans.

Training and Testing
Entire material for recertification and training is there on the agent portal of Humana website and adheres strictly to federal requirements. The comprehensive material represents the standard training developed by CMS and American Health Insurance Plans, so addition is also put in by Humana. Agents are advised to go through the training material in detail before appearing for the test.

AHIP Training and Testing
Humana in partnership with AHIP is offering testing and training. AHIP in close coordination with CMS develops the highly regarded material in the industry. Agents who wish to represent PDP or MA products are required to have AHIP certification. The purpose of the training is to be strengthening knowledge of agent and make him or her all encompassing.
